• Gloucester Man Hit on Road

    Sicklerville, NJ

A tragic Gloucester Township accident last month left a victim in critical condition, with broken bones and lung damage.

August reports from the Courier Post online showed a hit-and-run vehicle accident occurred on Sicklerville road on a Sunday evening at 10PM.

The 23-year-old victim was walking along the road when he was struck. Police speculated that the car in question would have significant front end damage.

    Complexity of Hit-and-Run Accidents

Police and first responders understand the challenges of hit-and-run accidents, where there are a lot of unanswered questions at the scene.

Hit-and-run accident inherently make the case more challenging. It’s not only the fact that the at-fault driver isn’t available to be identified. It’s that without all of the vehicles, it becomes a lot more difficult to make clear observations about what happened. A police report can be less detailed and can complicate pursuing compensation for an injury victim. Qualified personal injury attorneys will anticipate and deal with these challenges, as they use knowledge of the law and case precedent to go up against insurance companies or other involved parties, on behalf of the injury victims.

    Personal Injury Lawyers

Personal injury attorneys also understand that a hit-and-run accident can be difficult to research. When getting involved with a hit-and-run auto accident, personal injury lawyers will look carefully at reports from the scene. They’ll also evaluate the full context of the accident in order to help get their clients equitable results in court, for example, investigating:

    • Weather at the time of the accident
    • Whether appropriate warning signage and road maintenance were in place
    • Whether third party vehicles were involved
    • Whether any distracting video signage or lack of sight distance played a role

A broad spectrum approach to the case is extremely important when, as mentioned, there’s less than full information about the scene of the accident. That means there’s less of a chance of securing timely compensation from an at-fault driver’s insurance company. It also means that the injury victim may be more confused about their rights under the law, and how to pursue a personal injury claim. In southern New Jersey, Marlton injury lawyers know how to deal with these and other challenges, to work hard to help a client access their rights under the law.
